Yes, others CAN do the work better than you

Dear Reader,

You may be an entrepreneur, a visionary, a trailblazer. You have big dreams and bold plans. You’re not afraid to take risks and face challenges.

But you also have a problem:

You think you have to do everything by yourself. You think that no one can do the job as well as you. You think that you’re the only one who cares about your business.

BUT - That’s not true.

You DON’T need to do everything by yourself. There ARE people who can do the job even better than you. You CAN keep people accountable to help you achieve your goals.

How? By mastering delegation!

Here’s exactly how:

  • Identify the tasks that you can delegate.
These are usually the ones that are repetitive, routine, low-priority, or outside your expertise.
  • Choose the right people to delegate to.
These are usually the ones who have the skills, knowledge, experience, or interest in doing the tasks.
  • Communicate clearly what you expect from them.
These include the goals, deadlines, resources, standards, and feedback mechanisms of the tasks.
  • Trust them to do their job.
Don’t micromanage or interfere with their work. Give them autonomy and support them when they need it.
  • Appreciate and reward their efforts.
Recognize their contributions and celebrate their achievements. Show them that you value their work and respect their abilities.

Here are some tools you can use for effective delegation:

  • Teamwork: A task management app that helps you check the bandwidth of your team members and assign tasks accordingly
  • Google Jamboard: A digital whiteboard app that helps you explain tasks visually to remote workers
  • Asana: A project management app that helps you create an outline of the tasks and include dependencies and due dates

I agree, delegating is not easy. It requires courage, humility, and trust.

But it’s worth it. It can help you grow your business faster, smarter, and happier.

So don’t be afraid to let go of some things and let others help you.

You’ll be glad you did.
