Dear Reader,
Do you want to learn how to stand out on LinkedIn?
Do you want to know the secrets of one of the most influential and inspiring LinkedIn influencers in India?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you are in for a treat. In this edition of our newsletter, we are going to explore the amazing personal branding journey of Ankur Warikoo, the founder of Nearbuy, an angel investor, a TEDx speaker, and a LinkedIn Top Voice.
Some facts: Ankur is an internet entrepreneur, content creator, and public speaker based in India. He has over 2 million followers on LinkedIn and is consistently ranked as one of the top profiles globally.
How did he do it?
In this newsletter, I’m going to break down his personal brand strategy and share some key takeaways that you can apply to your own LinkedIn journey.
Let’s dive in.
Ankur has a clear purpose for creating content on LinkedIn: to create awareness.
In my opinion, he believes that the choices we make in life should come from a point of awareness and not ignorance. He wants to help people explore their potential and make informed decisions about their careers and personal growth.
He communicates his why on his About page, his LinkedIn bio, and his content.
For example, in one of his posts, he shares his story of quitting his corporate job and starting his entrepreneurial journey. He explains how he overcame his fears and doubts and followed his passion. He also encourages his audience to pursue their dreams and not settle for less.
Knowing your why is crucial for building a personal brand. It helps you define your niche, target audience, and value proposition. It also helps you stay consistent and authentic in your content creation.
Ankur is a master of creating engaging content that resonates with his audience. He uses a variety of formats, such as videos, stories, polls, quizzes, infographics, and live sessions.
What I love about his content is that he experiments with different topics, such as entrepreneurship, careers, personal growth, productivity, mindset, and more. He covers both evergreen and trending topics that are relevant to his audience.
He follows a simple formula for creating engaging content: he starts with a hook, delivers value, and ends with a call to action.
For example, in one video, he hooks the viewer with a question: “What is the one thing that successful people do differently?” He then shares his answer: They focus on the process, not the outcome. He explains why this is important and how to apply it in our lives. He ends with a call to action: asking the viewers to share their thoughts in the comments.
Ankur’s content is engaging because it is informative, relatable, and actionable. He provides useful tips and insights that his audience can learn from and implement.
He always invites his audience to interact with him and each other by asking questions, soliciting feedback, or encouraging discussions.
He engages with his audience at a deeper level.
Ankur is not only a creative content creator but also a data-driven one. He leverages data analytics to grow his network and optimize his content performance.
He uses tools like Shield and LinkedIn Insights to track and measure various metrics, such as views, likes, comments, shares, followers, reach, engagement rate, impressions, click-through rate, and more.
He analyzes these metrics to understand what works and what doesn’t work for his content. He identifies the best times to post, the best formats to use, the best topics to cover, the best headlines to write, and the best hashtags to include.
He also uses data analytics to identify his ideal audience segments and tailor his content accordingly. He knows who his followers are, where they are from, what they do, what they are interested in, and what they are looking for.
For example, he noticed that most of his followers are from India and are interested in topics like entrepreneurship and personal growth. He also noticed that his videos get more views and engagement than other formats. Based on these insights, he created more video content on entrepreneurship and personal growth for his Indian audience.
By using data analytics, Ankur can optimize his content strategy and maximize his results. He can reach more people, generate more engagement, grow more followers, and build more trust and authority.
So, to sum it up, here is what I learned from Ankur Warikoo:
I hope you enjoyed this newsletter and found it valuable.
If you did, please share it with your network!
Until next time,
Tulika
